What this Comfortmaker® dealer had to say about Dual Fuel:
Comfortmaker® dealer Mark Pratt of Pratt Development in Sikeston, Missouri, recently installed a dual fuel system using a variable-speed Comfortmaker SoftSound™ VS 95 gas furnace and a Comfortmaker 13 SEER single-stage heat pump for a customer who was replacing an old gas system.
- More Cash in your Pocket? “Yes, you make more profit on a more expensive system. Dual fuel was chosen for this application, because the customer wanted to have a gas system as a backup in case of a power outage. He could then run the furnace blower off a generator.”
- Happy Customers? “Yes, they are happy with the dual fuel system, although it took them a while to get used to a different type of system than they were used to.”
- Tech Tips? “Make sure the homeowner understands how to use the dual fuel thermostat, especially if they are used to an older system of an entirely different kind. This installation was for an older couple, so we set the temperature at 40° for changeover from heat pump to gas.”
